LexisNexis and WestlawThe Law Library subscribes to the two major computerized legal research systems, Westlaw and LexisNexis, which are available at no charge to UCLA Law Students. Students will need to obtain personal passwords in order to use LexisNexis and Westlaw. These services are available only to the UCLA Law School community and may be used only for academic purposes. The Law Library cannot provide access for other UCLA users or the general public to these systems. The Library System does maintain a subscription to LexisNexis Academic, which is a special academic version of LexisNexis that is available to the general UCLA community. LexisNexis offers limited searching on their system for non-subscribers who pay with a credit card. Check their web site at http://www.lexis-nexis.com for more information. The Law Library subscribes to a number of
CD-ROM databases and Internet resources, such as periodical and treaty indexes
and an index to Congressional publications. Currently available resources are
listed below. CD-ROM databases are available from the public computers in the
Reference Reading Room; Internet resources are available to users with UCLA Law
School IP Addresses.
